Creation and use of the token

A personal token is a random combination of numbers and letters that is automatically assigned to each contact in evenito. Each token is unique and serves to identify the corresponding contact in your event.

Creation of a personal token for each contact

The token is automatically generated by evenito when you manually add a contact or upload a contact list, and is stored with the respective contact.

This token is randomly defined by evenito. You have the option of defining your own tokens for your contacts by either overwriting them in the respective contact's mask or storing them directly in a column of your Excel table and matching them with the corresponding field during upload.

The token must be at least 6 characters long. As soon as you remove the evenito token when manually creating a contact, the following security warning appears:

Attention!

We strongly recommend using tokens generated by evenito. Tokens created by yourself may pose a security risk. If you still decide to create your own tokens, please ensure that they are generated as securely as possible and consist of an independent sequence of numbers and letters.

Once a contact has been created or uploaded, the token can no longer be changed.

Functionality of the personal token

Personal registration link

The token allows you to personalize the registration link in the e-mail. This takes the participant to their pre-filled registration form, where they only need to enter the additional event-specific information. We will show you how here.

E-mail placeholder

The token can be stored directly in the e-mails using the placeholder [[contact.token]]. In addition, the personal token can also be inserted into the URL for the event website (personal registration link) or displayed in full. The placeholder is [[event.register]]. We show you how this is composed here.

Attention!

Once an e-mail containing information about the respective token has been sent, it can no longer be adjusted for any contact. Otherwise, the link that has already been sent will no longer be valid.

Enter token manually

If your event is only for invited guests or is private, your guests can access the registration form and register by entering the token. The token can either be sent as a placeholder in the e-mail or by post. In the latter case, you can export the participant list and read the token from this list.
