How do I set up a stream in evenito?


You can add a stream to your virtual event: Either embed a one-to-many embed a one-to-many stream (live stream) or a many-to-many meeting.

Program item for streams

To set up a stream, you need at least one programme point Backto which the stream can later be assigned. the stream can be assigned to later. If you do not yet have a programme point set it up under "Programme". You can find more information here: Create a programme item.

Create stream


First, open the "Virtual Platform" menu item and click on the "Streams" tab and themn on the plus sign at the top right to add a new stream.

First of all, choose whether you want to create a stream with the help of an embedding code (e.g. from Youtube or Vimeo) (One-to-Many) or if you want to have an interactive meeting (Many-to-Many).

Then you can define the name for this stream. Basically, the naming serves primarily to keep the individual streams in the overview in the overview. Nevertheless, pay attention to how you name your many-to-many streams, because this title will be displayed within the meeting.

The "Description" section is primarily crucial for many-to-many meetings or few-to-many meetings. Here you can e.g. add additional information for your speakers/presenters or participants, that they should make sure that the camera & audio devices are enabled before entering the meeting room. This message is displayed as soon as the speakers, moderators or participants click on the "Join" button in the agenda.


Do you want to add information (e.g. a description of the program point) to your stream and do you want your participants to see this info? Then please add this content in the respective linked program point.

Don't forget to assign one or more program points to your stream: This is the only way to display it in connect. You can select the program points already set up via the dropdown.

You want the stream to be provided in a booth? Then use the dropdown to select a stand that has already been set up. How to set up a stand is described in this article.

Confirm your selection with "Add". Your set-up stream will now be listed in the overview.

Please note!

In a many-to-many meeting, you do not have to deposit a stream. As soon as you select this stream type, a Jitsi meeting is automatically linked to it. For a one-to-many stream, you need to enter the appropriate embed code. 

That is, the field under "Embed code (iFrame or JavaScript)" is only filled for a one-to-many stream. Just add the embed code here as mentioned with all necessary video permissions (e.g. audio play, hide controls). This guide shows you how to do this, for example, with a code. 

Edit/delete stream

To edit a stream, click on Streams in the menu item. Now move the the mouse pointer over the desired stream. There you will find the pencil icon on the right.

Click on it and confirm your selection again using the "Delete" button.

Please note: once deleted, the stream cannot be restored.
