While our standard components follow accessibility best practices, custom styling, individual color choices, third-party widgets, or custom code can override accessibility standards. It is therefore the event organizer's responsibility to verify that published pages comply with applicable accessibility requirements.   ### Accessibility and usability in the backoffice (for Event Managers) Managing events in the evenito backoffice is also designed to help you create accessible content effortlessly and avoid common mistakes. #### **Alternative text (Alt text) for images** To help visually impaired individuals understand visual content using screen readers (text-to-speech), you can add alternative text in several areas across the tool. With these descriptions, screen reader software can read out and interpret image content. #### In the file manager Once you upload an image to evenito, you can add an alternative text to it. For step-by-step instructions on setting alternative texts for your files in the File Manager, please refer to [this article](https://help.evenito.com/manage-file-manager#uploading-and-editing-files). If an image is missing alt text, a notification saying "Alternative text missing" is displayed next to the image in the File Manager. #### In messages You can add alt texts to images directly within the message editor. Simply click on the respective image inside your message draft. To do this, open your photo gallery by navigating to "**Event Content**" **\>** "**Photos**". Hover over a photo and click the alternative text icon that appears in the top-right corner.
