To increase the security of your space and logins, multi-factor authentication (MFA) can be activated for users. This feature ensures that, in addition to the password, a one-time code must be entered when logging in.
In this article:
Enable MFA for all users
Administrators have the option of activating multi-factor authentication for all users in their space.
To do this, click the arrow next to the space name in the top navigation and go to "Space settings". Here, open the “Users, Teams & Roles” section.
Above the user list, you can see the Multi-factor authentication section. This authentication can be enabled for all users by the admin clicking the "Enable" button.
In the second step, a confirmation window opens. By clicking the "Enable for all users" button, MFA is activated for all users.
Enable MFA for individual users
Administrators also have the option of activating multi-factor authentication for individual, specific users by clicking on the desired user, enable the "Enforce multi-factor authentication" toggle and then confirming the changes by clicking on the "Save changes" button.
Attention:
If MFA has been enabled for a user, this setting cannot be reversed by the administrator.
Set Up MFA as a User
If a user logs into evenito for the first time after MFA activation, the MFA setup must first be completed.
For this purpose, a pop-up window opens immediately after logging in, in which the next steps of the setup are explained.
The user now needs to open the authenticator app of their choice, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, on their smartphone and add a new account. The QR code displayed in evenito must then be scanned to receive a one-time valid code.
As soon as the authentication has been successfully completed, the user can click on the "Back to sign in" button.
Logging in with MFA
Once the setup has been completed as described above, the user can log in with their e-mail address and password. They will then be asked for a one-time verification code, which is displayed in the authenticator app. This code now only needs to be entered in the corresponding field to complete the login.
Please note:
From now on, a verification code from the Authenticator app will be needed every time the user logs in.
