Our ticketing function is an additional module that is only available in your space after it has been activated.
If you would like to add this feature, please contact your designated sales representative or send us an e-mail to help@evenito.com.
In this article
- Edit event settings
- Set up the ticket purchase confirmation message
- Store “Tickets” widget on event website
Please also add all relevant content to your event, such as the agenda, registration form, and location, as outlined in this article.
This guide explains all the additional functions you need to set up your ticket shop.
Activate "Tickets" in your event
To set up tickets, you must first activate the "Tickets" module within your event like describes in this article.
Once activated, the corresponding menu item will appear on the left side of your navigation bar.
Please note:
If you copy this event or save it as a template, the Tickets module will already be automatically activated in those events.
Define and manage your tickets
Create new tickets
To create a new ticket, click on "Ticket types" and then on the plus button in the top-right corner. Fill in your ticket information and confirm by clicking the "Add" button:
-
Name: Ticket name shown on your event website and ticket shop
-
Colour: Ticket colour for easier identification in the evenito back office
-
Price & VAT: Enter the price and VAT per ticket
-
Quantity: Define how many tickets of this type are available for purchase
-
Description: Add additional information for this ticket, if needed
Your newly created ticket type will now appear in the list. Repeat the above steps to create more tickets.
Attention!
Before publishing your tickets via the "Go Live" button, check the start and end dates of your event in the "Basics" of your "Event settings". These must be in the future and can not be changed once the first ticket is published.
Once reviewed, click "Go Live" to publish the tickets for testing on your event website. Confirm this action in the pop-up window.
After clicking this button, your tickets are live, and the button will be greyed out for the remainder of the event.
You can add more tickets at any time by following the above process, saving your changes and republishing them on the event website.
Edit, delete and hide tickets
You can reorder your tickets in the shopping cart by dragging and dropping them using the icon that appears when you hover over a ticket type.
Edit tickets
Click on a ticket type to open the editing window. Make your changes and confirm by clicking "Save & back". You can edit the ticket name, price, and other fields at any time.
Delete tickets
You can only delete a ticket category if no purchases have been made - this includes test tickets or canceled tickets.
To delete a ticket click the trash can icon when hovering over the ticket, or open the three-dot menu within the ticket and select "Delete ticket"
Confirm your action by clicking "Delete" in the pop-up window.
Once deleted, the ticket type is removed from your overview.
If a ticket has already been sold and can not be deleted, you have the following options:
-
Edit the ticket (e.g. change the name or price)
-
Set the quantity limit to the number of tickets already sold so it shows as "Sold Out"
-
Hide the ticket, like described below.
Hide tickets
Attention!
Once hidden, a ticket can not currently be unhidden in the shopping cart.
This feature can e.g. be used to hide test tickets or categories like “Early Bird” after a certain time.
To hide a ticket click the three-dot menu in the ticket and select "Hide ticket type"
Confirm your action in the pop-up window:
A hidden ticket will be marked with an icon next to its name in the list.
Please note:
All changes must be saved and the event website republished to synchronize with the shopping cart.
Edit event settings
Before going live, check the following data in your "event settings".
View the sales period
After clicking "Go Live", the defined sales period will appear under the "Timeframes" tab.
If the ticket module is removed from the site or the site is taken offline before the event ends, ticket sales will also stop.
- Start date = Ticket "Go Live" date
- End date = Event end date (defined in basic event settings)
Please note:
This period is generated automatically and can not be manually changed.
Define a ticket purchase limit
In the “Limits” section under “General Limits,” please define the ticket limit per purchase, which sets the maximum number of tickets that can be bought in a single transaction.
Since all ticket purchases and their associated ticket tags are always assigned to the corresponding ticket buyer contact, we recommend allowing only one ticket per purchase. This ensures that each person buying a ticket must complete their own registration, which results in clean and separate data in your evenito back office.
Attention!
Please do not define a maximum number of participants.
At present, it is not possible to individually configure how many tickets each group is allowed to purchase
If you wish to allow multiple tickets per person and/or need to officially register accompanying persons, make sure that your companion management is activated and that the number in the “Companion limit per person" field is always one less than the value set for the “Ticket limit per person.”
Please note:
All purchased tickets will always be attributed to the ticket buyer contact in the evenito back office. Accompanying persons will not have ticket tags shown in their contact details.
Set up the ticket purchase confirmation message
To ensure that a confirmation e-mail is automatically sent after a ticket purchase - which includes the corresponding invoice as an attachment - you first need to set up this message in your "Messages" section.
Please follow the instructions in this article and select "Purchase Confirmation" from the dropdown menu under “Type.”
Alternatively, you can duplicate an existing message as described here and change the message type later in the message settings.
The ticket purchase confirmation will automatically be sent to the e-mail address provided during the ticket purchase and can not be configured by group.
You can customize the message content as needed. The invoice is automatically attached and can be directly downloaded by the contact.
If your event includes scenarios where the ticket buyer and the registered participant are not the same person, or if you wish to send group specific communications, you should also set up a corresponding message of type “Registration Confirmation” and/or “Companion Registration Confirmation” to target those segments appropriately.
Attention!
In an open event setup, ticket buyer contacts will always be assigned to the default fallback group you have defined.
Store “Tickets” widget on event website
Lastly, you need to make the ticket purchase option available to your participants on the event website.
If you haven’t created an event website yet, please follow the instructions in this article and build your website structure to set it up with the relevant content.
Then drag and drop the “Tickets” widget into your website structure.
Please note:
You can only use either the “Registration” widget or the “Tickets” widget per website. As soon as one is placed, the other becomes greyed out and unavailable.
Hover over the module and click on the pencil icon to open the edit window.
All general configuration options for the modules can be found in this article.
Here, you can also customize the label of the button that links your contacts to the ticket shop.
Confirm your changes by clicking the “Close” button.
To test the ticket purchase, you must publish the website live. Ticket purchases can not be made in editor or preview mode.
Please note:
Once a ticket has been purchased for your event, it is no longer possible to delete the event from your event overview.

If you want to combine free registrations and paid ticket purchases in one event, please follow the setup instructions provided in this article.
